Educational Background

Christine Escobar-Sawicki joined the Field Education Team in 2011 and will be based in the Chicago land area. Christine has been practicing social work for approximately 14 years, after obtaining her BSW (1995) from Illinois State University and Master of Social Work (1997) from The University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration.

Christine has spent most of her career working in the field of Forensic Interviewing in Children's Advocacy Center settings. As a Forensic Interviewer, Christine has interviewed over 2,500 children regarding allegations of abuse/witnesses to crimes and has testified in over 100 court cases. Additionally, Christine has managed social workers, Forensic Interviewers, support staff and also developed and managed a Quality Improvement program. Christine has also worked in residential programs with adolescents and is currently working with patients in an outpatient chemical dependency and mental health program.
